PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Rebels JV softball team traveled to White Knoll High School on Feb. 25 and 26 to compete in the Carolina Invitational tournament.

The Rebels, behind strong pitching performances from, Gabi Riddle, Josalyn Gallman, Savannah Moore and Mary Grace Bryant, held the teams to a combined eight runs in four games. The Rebels also drove in a combined 31 runs.

In the first game, the Rebels defeated Byrnes High 3-0 in a strong pitching performance behind ninth grader Gabi Riddle. Riddle went six innings, giving up five hits and striking out four. Top hitters for the game were: Jaila Gallman 2-3, Riddle 1-3, Alaijah Bookman 1-2, Kassidy Sanders 1-2.

Game two matched River Bluff High vs Mid-Carolina. The Rebels defeated The Gators 8-5.

Mary Grace Bryant got the start for the Rebels. Savannah Moore picked up the save for MC. Top hitters for MC: Raelyn Livingston 2-3, Riddle 2-3, Jaila Gallman 2-3, Moore 1-3, Anna Marie Milstead 1-3, Carter Vinson 1-2, Kassidy Sanders 1-1.

Game three, MC defeated Dorman High 13-0 in Mid Carolina’s best all-around game in the tournament.

Jaila Gallman got the start for MC going the distance for the Rebels only giving up three hits. Top hitters for MC: Vinson 1-1, Arie Longshore 1-1, Livingston 1-1, Katie Gallman 1-1, Moore 1-1, Emory Simpson 1-1, Riddle 1-1, Jaila Gallman 1-1, Milstead 1-1.

In the championship game, MC defeated North Augusta 7-3. Riddle got the start and went the distance going six innings giving up seven hits and striking out five. Top hitters for MC: Livingston 2-3, Moore 1-3, Riddle 1-3, Josalyn Gallman 1-2, Milstead 1-2, Longshore 2-2.
