Rebels top Spring Valley 11-6

PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina Rebels Varsity weathered a push by Spring Valley in the sixth inning where the Rebels coughed up four runs as Mid-Carolina won 11-6 on Tuesday.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game as the Rebels collected ten hits. Mid-Carolina fired up the offense in the first inning by scoring two runs on a Tanner Folk single. The Rebels notched three runs in the fourth inning. Folk and Tyler List all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Hayes Waites was the winning pitcher for the Rebels. He went four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four. Zach Frick and Wesley Livingston entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Livingston recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Mid-Carolina Rebels Varsity.

Seve took the loss for Spring Valley. He surrendered five runs on four hits over one and one-third innings, striking out two.

The Rebels did hit one home run on the day. BJ Tobe had an inside the park homer in the fifth inning on a long fly ball to the center fielder. BJ blazed around the bases for his only RBI of the contest.

The Rebels Varsity tallied ten hits on the day with List and Folk both collecting multiple hits. List led the team with three hits in four at bats.
