CAYCE — The Newberry men’s tennis team racked up its seventh-straight victory after defeating Mars Hill 6-3 Thursday afternoon at the Cayce Tennis Center.

Newberry (11-2, 3-0 SAC) swept through doubles play over Mars Hill (1-12, 0-6 SAC). Jordan Monosky and Edison Ambarzumjan dispatched their opponent at No. 1 doubles with an 8-4 win.

Nikhil Mannepalli and Angel Pizarro scored an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Richard Zeh and Logan Adkins closed out doubles action with an 8-2 victory. Zeh and Adkins have won eight-straight doubles matches.

Monosky won a close match at No. 2 singles, 7-6, 0-6, 10-7 for his seventh consecutive singles victory. Pizzaro secured the win for Newberry with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 4. Adkins rounded out the scoring for Newberry with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
