• The second annual Stokes-Trainor Newberry County Classic Wrestling Tournament is held at Whitmire Community School at 9 a.m. Admission will be $6 and only South Carolina High School League Passes will be honored. Concessions will be sold. Breakfast and lunch items will be available.

• The Newberry County DSN Board of Directors meets at 4 p.m. in the conference room at Newberry Industries, 115B Nance St. in Newberry.
Jan. 15
• Partners for PRIDE (families of individuals with disabilities and special needs) meets at 12:15 p.m. in the conference room at Newberry Industries, 115B Nance St. in Newberry.
Jan. 21
• The Newberry County Water and Sewer Authority holds its annual work session from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the NCWSA office, 13903 C.R. Koon Highway in Newberry. The regular board meeting will follow.
ONGOING EVENTS
• Newberry County First Steps Partnership meets at 5:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the DSS Conference Room, 2107 Wilson Road. Contact Patricia H. Caldwell at 321-1073 for more information.
• The Newberry County Literacy Council offers basic computer classes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at its office, 1121 Caldwell St. in Newberry. The free class covers topics including Microsoft Office, Publisher, emailing and Internet. Call 803-276-8086 for more information.
• A community blood drive is held from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month in the NCMH Cafeteria on the Evans Street entrance to the hospital.
• Pre-diabetes and BP screenings are held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month at the NCMH Wellness Center.
