NEWBERRY — For the fifth year in a row, Gov. Nikki R. Haley has declared January to be South Carolina Interfaith Harmony Month.
During this time members of Interfaith Partners hold special services, open house meetings, educational and artistic events to bring together people from different faiths to learn about each other’s spiritual practices and celebrate all the ways that South Carolinians find spiritual meaning.
Many congregations and religious groups will hold special events and services in January during which they will especially welcome people who are not members of their group to visit.
In Newberry, Clayton Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church will participate in Interfaith Harmony Month with a special service on Jan. 29, at 11 a.m.
The public is invited to attend this event which will focus on the specific elements of a Unitarian Universalist service with a brief description of each activity. Opportunities for questions will be provided. Light refreshments will be available after the session.
