Wolves men’s wrestling ranked fifth in overall team GPA for DII athletics

NEWBERRY — The Newberry College men’s wrestling program posted the fifth best team grade point average in NCAA Division 2 and was named a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Team Scholar All-America Award.

Nine Wolves also earned National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Division II Men’s Scholar All-American Awards.

To achieve Scholar All-America status student-athletes must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or qualify for the NCAA championships and have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

Senior John Parker is a three-time winner of the Scholar All-American Award while Caiden Pelc, Benjamin Valdes and Chance Jackson all repeated as award winners.
