NEWBERRY — True Arellano-Homan, Sandra Brennan, Emily Castaneda, Ava Espinoza, Madison Gutierrez, and Mikaela Warburton were named to the 2025 NCAA Division 2 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Team.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and compete in 90 percent of the institution’s games.

Arellano-Homan (Murrieta, Calif.) is a sophomore midfielder majoring in Biology starting all 15 games this season and scoring a goal.

Brennan (Summerville) is senior defender majoring in Digital Marketing starting eight of 14 matches this year and scoring a goal and dishing out an assist and scoring three goals with two assists in 29 games in her Newberry career.

Castaneda (Corona, Calif.) is a senior defender majoring in Psychology starting all 15 matches this season scoring three goals and starting 64 of 66 matches during her career scoring four goals with seven assists.

Espinoza (Roseville, Calif.) is a senior defender majoring in Elementary Education starting 14 of 15 games this season and 17 of her 26 games at Newberry.

Gutierrez (Buckeye, Ariz.) is junior goalkeeper majoring in Business Administration starting 14 games posting four shutouts and a 1.24 goals against average this season.

Warburton (Bothell, Wash.) is a sophomore midfielder majoring in Business Administration starting 14 matches scoring a goal with two assists and starting 26 of 28 games in her career with two goals and two assists.
