COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Rebels created absolute mayhem last week with their win over Chester, and now have followed that up with a win and a share of the region 3-AA title. Mid-Carolina(5-5, 3-1 region 3-AA) defeated Eau Claire(5-5, 1-3 region 3-AA) by the score of 20-6 to win a share of the region 3-AA title.
Mid-Carolina went into playoffs mode nearly three weeks ago as they fell to to 2-5 on the season following their week seven loss to Fairfield Central. The Rebels have now ripped off three straight wins and will host a home playoffs game on next Friday, Nov. 3rd.
In this game, it was a defensive battle for both teams. The Rebels’ defense holding the Shamrocks to six points was tied for the lowest amount of points they held to an opponent all season. Their usual suspects such as Ryker Woolstenhulme, Monteith Brown and both of the offensive and defensive line in this game.
“We did a great job of controlling the offensive and defensive line tonight. Our defense played really well and we are playing really well as we head into the playoffs. I think we will host Saluda at home next Friday,” said Rebels’ head coach Chris Arnoult.
Mid-Carolina will now turn their focus to the first round of the playoffs. The official playoffs schedule will be released on Saturday, Nov. 1st.
