GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Newberry College Acrobatics & Tumbling team showed progress against Lander University, posting a season-high score of 102.525 despite falling to the Bearcats 252.405-102.525.
The Wolves improved from their previous performance against Lander, where they recorded 92.50 points. This time, Newberry showcased growth across multiple events, with standout performances in the Pyramid and Toss heats. In the Pyramid Open Heat, the Wolves earned an impressive 8.85 out of 10.00, while the Toss Open Heat saw them score 8.00 points.
Newberry started strong, posting 59.85 points in the first half, with a notable 7.10 score in the Pyramid Heat of the Compulsory event. However, Lander’s depth and execution allowed them to take control in the second half, pulling away with a 159.205 score in the final session.
The Wolves are back in action on March 23 against Francis Marion at 6PM.
