DUE WEST — Newberry finished up the Red Myers Little Four Classic with a win against North Greenville with a 94-84 victory.

James Stepp led the way for the Wolves with 24 points and shooting 50 percent from behind the arc making 5 of 10. Xavier Hill was next with 18 points and Mitch Riggs added 10 points while Brandon Taylor and Gerald Evans combined for 15 rebounds.

Newberry jumped out to an early 4-0 lead with two jump shots made from Holmes and Stepp. The Wolves continued their run with a three pointer made by Mason Spease to push their lead to 10 with the score at 12-2. The Knights battled back to take the lead at 35-32 when Kriston Beasley hit a three pointer. Newberry went on another run to take a 44-39 lead at half time.

Newberry stayed hot in the second half with a lot of made free throws. The Knights would try to make a comeback but the Wolves were ready for it every time and kept their lead throughout the half. With 10 minutes to go Stepp hit a jumper to put the Wolves up by nine. Newberry never looked back as the won the game 94-84.
