NEWBERRY, SC — Newberry College Athletics welcomes Korey Singh as the newest member of the baseball coaching staff. Singh, a native of Midlothian, VA, brings a diverse baseball background as both a coach and player.
“We are thrilled to have Korey as a part of our staff,” said Newberry Baseball Head Coach, Jay Snyder. “I’m excited to be a part of mentoring his continued growth as a coach and witness the relationships that he builds with our players.”
Singh comes to Newberry after serving as the Graduate Assistant Director of Baseball Operations at Radford University, VA since the Fall of 2022. The Virginia native was a student-athlete at James Madison University, Patrick Henry Community College, and Norfolk State. Beyond the diamond, he has exhibited the type of qualities that first-year head coach Jay Snyder wanted to add to his staff.
“Through the hiring process, his name continued to be mentioned with loyalty, character, work ethic, and his drive to develop players,” said Coach Snyder. “It’s those characteristics that hit home for what I was looking for in a coach, as they are the traits that our program is built on.”
Singh graduated in May 2024 with a Master of Arts in Media and Communication from Norfolk State University after completing his undergrad from the same institution in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication.
