NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — The baseball season came to a disappointing end after Mid-Carolina came up just short in the 2A State Championship series against Oceanside Academy, but the official end of the season was positive for the all of Newberry County.
Three players from two high schools in Newberry County were selected to participate in the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association annual North-South all-star game. Senior Noah Mills of Newberry High School and seniors Jabari Flemon and Jacob Clark of Mid-Carolina High School were the three players that were selected from the area.
Clark and Flemon were both all-state selections that help lead the Rebels to the state title game. Mills was a multi-sport athlete for the Bulldogs and a leader on every team he was apart of this past season.
The games will take place on May 28 and May 29. They will be played at three different locations: Lexington High School, Gilbert High School and River Bluff High School.
There will also be a Hall of Fame/Player and Coach of the Year Banquet at 7:00 p.m. on May 28 at Lexington High School.
The full schedule is posted on scbca.net. Congratulations to the three selections from our county and good luck!
