Sparks, Md. – Six members of the Newberry College men’s lacrosse program earn all-American honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Scott Reed, and Baker Westmoreland are third team All-Americans, with Curtis Butka, Jack Travassos, Brock Strong and Ryan Erler collect honorable mention nods.

Reed led the Wolves attack with 91 points on 69 goals and 22 assists. The South Atlantic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year had scored six or more goals in seven games including two seven goal performances against Lynn and Tusculum.

Westmoreland had a team high 19-man up goals, including a six-goal performance against Belmont Abbey that landed him a conference player of the week honor. Westmoreland scored 54 points on the season with 38 goals and 16 assists.

Butka had 40 points on 18 goals and 22 assists while collecting 19 ground balls. Travassos held his own on the defensive side of the field. He led the Wolves with 27 caused turnovers. Travassos also had the team’s second most 59 ground balls collected in the 2024 campaign.

Strong collected 32 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. Strong had a highlight goal in the Wolves 14-9 victory over UIndy where he went coast-to-coast to give Newberry a 13-7 lead in that win.

Erler posted a 12-4 record in the goal for the Wolves in their historic season. His 184 saves mark the third highest in the South Atlantic Conference.
