NEWBERRY — Senior Marta Gomar was able to get her last win at the Oakland Tennis Center Thursday afternoon as Newberry fell to Catawba, 6-1.

The Wolves (12-11, 2-7 SAC) were looking to get off on the right foot with clinching the double point, but came up short. Amy Griffiths and Lucia Davila were able to defeat Olivia Wooldridge and Lauren Laughton win a 6-4 win. Unfortunately, Catawba was able to win the other two matches for the doubles point.

Gomar was able to get Newberry’s lone win in singles competition, defeating Wooldridge. The match was played to an eight game pro set where Gomar walked away, winning 8-5.
