VALDOSTA, GA. — The Newberry men’s golf team wrapped up play at the 2019 Southeastern Collegiate in Valdosta, Georgia, posting a team score of 881 (+17) en route to claiming an 11th place finish.

The Wolves put up a round three score of 296 (+8) to advance one spot in the standings from round two. Adrian Villiger and Ben Thompson led the charge for Newberry on day three with identical scores of 73 (+1). Villiger finished atop the Wolves squad with a total score of 217 (+1), placing him in a tie for 23rd on the individual leaderboard, while Thompson finished in a tie for 42nd with a score of 222 (+6).

Harry Bolton, who excelled for the Wolves in round one, presented another strong showing in the final round with a score of 75 (+3) to settle his total score at 219 (+3), finishing in a tie for 33rd individually.

Felipe Garces followed up a strong round two showing by posting a 75 (+3) as well in the final round, slotting him in a tie for 47th individually with a total score of 223.

Finally, Rob Cull closed out the scoring for the Wolves with an 80 (+8) on day three, leaving his total score at 233 (+17) and finishing in a tie for 87th overall.

The Wolves ended round three with a team score of 296 (+8), allowing them to jump one spot in the standings from round two and finish in 11th place on the team leaderboard. Barry finished atop the team standings with a total score of 848 (-16), finishing nine strokes ahead of the field.
