The Newberry County Sheriff’s Department reported the following:

• Aaron Scott Hite, 33, of 200 Newberry Arm #H, Newberry, was charged with counterfeiting/forgery on July 23. Officers were called to a business on Wilson Road in response to possible forged payroll checks. On March 31, Hite came into the business to cash a check from Advanced Disposal in the amount of $1,240.25. The complainant said that when she told Hite that she was going to call and verify the check, he ran. Investigators spoke with the director of Advanced Disposal who told them that Hite had never worked for them, and that they did not bank with Wells Fargo, the type of check he tried to cash.

• Christopher Elodous Graham, 60, of 375 Moses G Lane, Silverstreet, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and public intoxication on Aug. 8. During a wedding shower, a complainant called the police due to Graham riding a four wheeler through her yard and causing guests to dodge it. She advised that Graham was intoxicated as well. When authorities arrived, Graham was leaving. They made contact with him and found him to have trouble standing up. During a pat down, a dip can was found with marijuana inside as well as a pack of Dutch Cigarillos which also contained marijuana.

• Cedric Lopez Wadsworth, 30, of 130 Aull St., Newberry, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest on Aug. 11. Officers were patrolling the Olive Road area in Newberry in reference to suspicious activity. They approached Wadsworth’s vehicle, and attempted to speak with him. Wadsworth looked at the officers, tossed an unknown object to the driver and they drove off. Officers performed a traffic stop and Wadsworth fled the vehicle. Officers chased and caught him. When asked why he ran, Wadsworth said there were warrants his arrest, which was confirmed through dispatch. He also admitted to having marijuana in his possession. Officers found Cigarrillo packs containing marijuana in his pockets.

• Malcolm Issiah Robinson, 19, of 134 Kathys Drive, Clinton, was charged with attempt to possess a controlled substance on July 31. Robinson attempted to purchase sudafed from a Main Street pharmacy that would have been in excess of nine grams purchased for a 30-day period.

• Miriam Elise Holden, 24, of 267 Eaves Road, Whitmire, was charged with attempt to possess a controlled substance on July 24. Holden attempted to purchase sudafed from pharmacies on Main Street and Wilson Road that would have been in excess of nine grams purchased for a 30-day period.

• Raymond Robinson, 57, of 1530 Oxner Road, Newberry, was charged with public intoxication on July 22. Officers were called to a business where a complainant said Robinson was harassing customers and refused to leave. Officers arrived and found Robinson in the bathroom. He had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
