NEWBERRY — Newberry Health Hospital recently announced a generous donation from Trane Technologies’ Newberry facility to the hospital’s Oncology and Infusion Department. The donation includes 691 bottles of Ensure®, a vital nutritional supplement often used to support cancer patients undergoing treatment.

This contribution will provide dietary support for oncology patients, many of whom experience nutritional challenges during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Ensure® offers a reliable source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, helping patients maintain strength and energy during their recovery journey.

The donation was spearheaded by Trane Technologies’ Newberry team, driven by a deep commitment to the local community and those affected by cancer.

“At Trane Newberry, we understand the profound impact cancer can have on our employees and their families,” said Neshia Wright, Facilities Manager at Trane Technologies. “Many of our team members have been personally affected by this disease, which is why supporting the Newberry Hospital Oncology Center is so meaningful to us. By donating to this treatment center, we are not only helping to provide essential care and comfort to patients but also standing in solidarity with our colleagues and community members who are fighting this battle. This commitment reflects our core values of empathy, support, and community, and we are honored to contribute to such a vital cause.”

“This kind of community support makes a real difference,” said Katrina Minick, Director of Oncology and Infusion. “Cancer patients often face challenges in meeting their nutritional needs due to side effects of cancer and its treatments. Some patients risk malnutrition as they suffer with difficulty eating and poor appetite. Meeting nutritional needs is costly. Ensure/nutritional drinks provide proteins, vitamins and minerals that support muscle mass and treatment recovery. Proper nutrition is crucial to overall health and tolerance of their chemotherapy treatments.”
