NEWBERRY — Three people have been arrested in connection to a shooting in the 1800 block of Charles Street on May 19 that left one woman dead, the City of Newberry Police Department announced.
The Newberry Police Department identified the suspects as 20-year-old Keonte Montrez Caughman, 17-year-old IJavion Cheek and 19-year-old IMaurion Lil’Travis Cheek, all of Newberry.
Officers responded to the area around 3:15 p.m. where they found the woman with a gunshot wound.
Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece identified the woman as 25-year-old Breanna Bates, of Newberry.
Police Chief Kevin Goodman said more arrests may be coming. Anyone with information is asked to call Midlands Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or the Newberry Police Department.
