NEWBERRY — Newberry Middle School is showcasing their talented students through the arts tomorrow evening during the third annual Taste of Community event.

From 6-8 p.m., students, families and the Newberry community are invited to a celebration of heritage, including a spread of Asian, Mexican and American Cuisine in addition to live performances by students from Newberry Middle School and Newberry High School.

Band and chorus students from both schools along with NHS JROTC and drama students have participated in previous Taste of Newberry events. Other past participants include: Legacy Steppers and representatives from the Newberry Museum who spoke two years ago where they introduced the museum to the community.

The event is free to attend and attendees are welcome to indulge in food from local restaurants, served by NMS and NHS Junior Beta Club and Beta Club students along with the NMS Student Ambassadors, faculty and staff who volunteered their time.

“This event has grown each year and we are excited to host this event on April 24. We’ve changed the format to dinner/meals offered starting at 6 p.m. and a transition to the gym for performances beginning at 7 p.m.,” said Newberry Middle School Principal Zeb Reid.

Taste of Newberry will be held in the cafeteria and gymnasium at Newberry Middle School, located at 125 O’Neal Street, Newberry.
