NEWBERRY — Madison Jenkins, RN, has been named the recipient of Newberry Health Hospital’s quarterly DAISY Award, a national recognition that honors nurses for their clinical excellence, compassionate care, and dedication to patients and their families.
Jenkins was nominated by the family member of a patient who expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the care she provided:
“Madison took such great care of my mother – like family. She did the most exemplary job and treated her with such respect and care. She worked so hard. I want to know where I could send a note of appreciation – some of the best young nurses I have seen in quite a while. Dr. Weaver and Madison were the best. You can tell Madison was raised right.”
The DAISY Award (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) is an international program that celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. At Newberry Health Hospital, one nurse is selected each quarter based on nominations from patients, families, and colleagues who witness the impact of their care.
Jenkins’ nomination highlights not only her clinical expertise, but also her unwavering kindness and personal touch—traits that define what it means to be a nurse at Newberry Health.
