NEWBERRY — Genice is the Founding President of Women Connecting Women Chapter of American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) located in Newberry County. She was elected to the nine member Board during the National Women’s Leadership Conference held in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Genice will serve on the National Board of ABWA in one of three top tier Board positions as National Secretary-Treasurer, serving chapters across all the 50 states of the U.S.

Genice is a graduate of Mid Carolina High School and continued her education earning a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Limestone College, Master of Social Work from University of South Carolina and PhD coursework in Organizational Leadership at Capella University. Genice’s professional credentials include: licensed independent social worker and certified behavioral health coach. She has served as adjunct faculty at Piedmont Technical College (Newberry Branch) and University of South Carolina- College of Social Work. She is a notary public, published author, Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and the owner of Grateful Guidance Life Counseling, LLC.

Genice has been a member of ABWA since 2007 serving as Past President in the Columbia Triad Chapter in Columbia S.C. and Founder of local Women Connecting Women (Newberry) league which was chartered in 2020. She is active on a statewide and national level with South Carolina Area Council of ABWA, Ambassador of ABWA and a 2020 Top Ten Business Woman of ABWA.

On November 18, 2023, Genice will be recognized at an ‘Evening of Excellence’ dinner & entertainment celebration sponsored by the Women Connecting Women Chapter. The event will be held at Mid-Carolina County Club in Prosperity, S.C. The ticketed event is open to the public.

Founded in 1949, ABWA’s mission is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.
