Flashdance The Musical takes the stage at the Newberry Opera House at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Nov. 13. With electrifying dance at its core, Flashdance The Musical tells the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel mill welder by day and a club dancer by night with dreams of one day becoming a professional performer.
When romance with her steel mill boss threatens to complicate her ambitions, Alex learns the meaning of love and its power to fuel the pursuit of her dream.
Flashdance The Musical features a score that includes the biggest hit songs from the movie, including the Academy Award-winning title song “Flashdance — What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “Gloria,” “Manhunt,” and “I Love Rock & Roll.”
Michael Hall — Nov. 14
Michael Hall from Blythewood will present “The Best of Both Worlds Concert” at the Newberry Opera House at 8 p.m. Nov. 14 to mark the release of his first album. Joining him will be Johnny Cash’s brother, Tommy Cash, doing a tribute to Johnny.
Also appearing will be John Hall from Northport, Ala., as well as Gene Avey, a CMA award-winning vocalist and guitarist from Aiken. Michael’s son, locally-known guitarist Brent Hall, will join him on the stage on lead guitar.
