Newberry County Recreation hosts bunt and slide event for youth summer league teams

NEWBERRY — The Newberry County Recreation summer baseball and softball leagues closed out their seasons with a slide and bunt event for their youth athletes. The event was held to help teach the youth how to properly slide and bunt as well as bring some excitement and joy to their summer break.

The kids were able to enjoy a nice water slide along with a cold popsicles to help them cool off. The coaches and parents were able to get some fun out of the event as well by spraying the kids down with the water hose as they slid down the tarp into home plate.
