CHESTER — The South Carolina Avengers adult semi-pro football team based in Chester will start its inaugural season June 11 in Charlotte, N.C.
The team will play home games at Union County Stadium, 100 Kirby St. in Union.
Tryouts/workouts will be held April 9 and April 10 at the Galye Softball complex, 689 Pinckney Road in Chester. Those wanting to play need to arrive by 3:45 p.m. to sign paperwork. The workout fee is $20. Participants should wear black or dark blue shorts and cleats (no tennis shoes).
Teams in the league will include the S.C. Avengers and Carolina’s Elite Football Alliance along with the following leagues from North Carolina: Iredell County Warriors, Carolina Gators from Charlotte, Carolina Raiders from Thomasville, Carolina Razorbacks from Salisbury, Carolina Jaguars from Winston-Salem and Union County Hurricanes.
