NEWBERRY — The Newberry High School Lady Bulldogs opened up their season last week as they picked up at home wins over Chapin and Eau Claire, while losing on the road to Fairfield Central.
On Tuesday, Newberry never trailed in their 48-37 victory over the Lady Eagles.
Diamond Davis finished with 14 points, while Stefani Gibson and Nadia Marshall both scored 11 points. Meanwhile, Titianna Garrison (seven points), Faith Grey (three), and Tashari Hayward rounded out the Newberry scoring with two points.
On Friday, the Lady Griffins prevailed 62-36. Garrison led the Newberry scoring with 11 points, while Marshall had 10 points. Also, Davis (eight points), Grey (three), and Jahliah Eigner and Gibson both had two points.
On Saturday afternoon, Eau Claire had five of their nine players to foul out, in Newberry’s 54-33 victory. Davis scored 15 points, Gibson (14), and Marshall scored 11 points. Antonia Griffin scored five points, while Garrison, Antonia Griffin and Aaliah Sanders finished with three points apiece.
