In Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, we see love revealed.
From love we are blessed, from the power of God, to be a help and a blessing to others.
Some of these acts of love are love your enemies, Bless them that curse you and pray for them which despitefully use you. Luke 6: 27-28
Mercy is when God forgives sinners of their sins. The Lord tells us to show others mercy like He did. Only with a true love can we do this.
Our heart has to be right in order for us to be able to have this kind of mercy that God shows. We need to keep a check on our heart and let the Lord clean us up, so mercy and forgiveness can flow from us to others. Mercy is the out pouring of forgiveness from God’s love.
If we are not careful we will let bitterness and anger fill our heart and rob us of being used of God.
“A good man out of the good treasures of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; an evil man out of the treasures of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6: 45
A pure heart shows pure love.
