LITTLE MOUNTAIN — The second reading of the 2025-26 General Operating Budget for the Town of Little Mountain was unanimously approved during the June 10 Council Meeting.

Prior to the second reading, Council opened the floor for public hearing with no one requesting to speak. The budget for 2025-26 is $180,822 with a total tax levy of 56.22 mills.

In new business:

• The Dutch Fork Radio Group has been painting and making other repairs to the building. Members have requested that Council approve to cover the cost of having vinyl placed on the building where there are currently boards. Council requested that the group provide an estimate of the cost of the vinyl.

• A bid for tree work has been received for Brady Park. Two trees need to be removed and the fence line and limbs over the gazebo need to be cleaned up. The estimate for the work was $1,600. A recent storm damaged another tree and a cost to remove that tree will be presented as well. The bid was accepted by Council. Additionally, Council also approved for the bidder to remove the picket fence behind the Section House for the pickets.

In other business:

• Town Clerk Cindy Farr is waiting on a revised bid on the pathway at the Section House. Draft minutes from the meeting said a bid is also expected for the repair of the front steps and bathroom floor.

• The pre-bid meeting for the renovation at Reunion Park was held on May 21 – renovations are expected to begin the second week of August.

• Council is still waiting on the state budget to be finalized regarding funds for the cleanup at the Rocky Branch Trail Head.

• Farr told Council she is waiting on town businesses who have not renewed their business licenses. Mayor Jana Jayroe will be in contact with those businesses to avoid any further penalties to the businesses.

• Fast signs in Irmo are working on the vinyl lettering for the business directory board – meeting notes said additional placards will need to be added.
