NEWBERRY — Changes are coming to the Newberry Opera House and ahead of its 26th season, the community will have a chance to see those changes in an upcoming reopening celebration (more details to follow). The reopening will not only mark the beginning of a new season, but will showcase the completion of front-of-house refreshments and facility upgrades that will enhance accessibility while maintaining the historic charm that defines the Newberry Opera House.

A staple of cultural heritage since 1882, the enhancements will improve overall experience for guests, allowing more comfort, accessibility and aesthetic appeal. The Newberry Opera House has invested in a series of restorations to ensure the theater remains an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone in the community for generations to come.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome the community back to the Newberry Opera House. Our goal has always been to make the arts accessible to all, and these restorations are a testament to that commitment. We can’t wait for everyone to rediscover the magic of this historic theater and to experience the amazing lineup we have planned for our 26th season,” said Anne Pinckney Smith, executive director of the Newberry Opera House.
