NEWBERRY — Newberry Electric Cooperative, Shred360 and The Manna House partnered to host a drive-thru community shred event on September 27 at the NEC office on Wilson Road.

Folks from across the county came by with trunks full of sensitive documents ready to be shredded and recycled by the Shred360 truck onsite. Eighty-two vehicles came through, shredding almost four thousand pounds of sensitive documents.

Participants were generous with their donations, both non-perishable food items, as well as monetary donations, totaling $660.

NEC Vice President of Member, Public and Government Relations Debra Shaw stated, “Newberry Electric Cooperative is proud to host this shred event. It’s just a win-win for the community, the environment, as well as The Manna House, a non-profit serving the residents of Newberry County by providing non-perishable food items.”

NEC would like to thank everyone who participated in the event. Because of your generosity, many lives across the county will be touched.
