NEWBERRY COUNTY — Three Newberry men were arrested last week for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and other charges after being found in possession of more than 22 grams of marijuana and more than $13,000 in cash.

Cahlid Jamel Clark, 17, of 1911 Epting St. in Newberry, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000 for the possession charge, and $250 for the paraphernalia charge.

Teandre Germaine Hunter, 22, of 1911 Epting St. in Newberry, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and driving under suspension. His bond was set at $10,000 for the possession charge and $647 for the DUS charge.

Antonio Malik Washington Jr., 20, of 1911 Epting St. in Newberry, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. His bond was set at $10,000.

According to the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office:

Deputies with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on Reid Street around 6 p.m. Sept. 21 for a traffic violation. There was a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The deputy called for assistance and along with an officer from the Newberry Police Department, searched Hunter, Washington and Clark as well as the vehicle. They located more than 22 grams of marijuana and just over $13,000 in cash wrapped in rubber bands in separate stacks.

The three were arrested and taken to the Newberry County Detention Center without incident.
