PROSPERITY — The eighth annual Ruth S. Pugh Foundation Golf Tournament was held on April 11 at the Mid-Carolina County Club. The tournament is the primary fundraising event for the Ruth S. Pugh Foundation and is held in honor of Bill Braswell, vice-chairman for the Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs Board. The foundation works closely with the Newberry DSN Board to help support individuals with disabilities and special needs.
Twenty-one teams participated in the captain’s choice tournament and the top three teams were as follows: First Place – Big Gun Robotics (score of 56); Second Place – Bill Braswell’s Team (score of 57); and Third Place – Will Farrior’s Team (score of 62).

Volunteer Jon Franklin and Bill Braswell (vice-chair NCDSNB) placed second.

Will Farrior’s team placed third during the tournament.

Tony Powers and James Moore with volunteer caddies Katheryn Wilbanks and Annette Bledsoe received MVP Awards.

Big Gun Robotics placed first during the tournament.
