NEWBERRY — The Newberry women’s basketball team has been ranked No. 5 in the Southeast Region Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) polls.
The Wolves are coming of a 2-0 start in wins vs. Belmont Abbey and Limestone during the Stokes-Trainor Conference Challenge held in Newberry over the weekend.
The Wolves defeated Limestone by a final of 62-56 on Saturday night. The Saints are currently ranked as the No. 7 team in all of D-II women’s basketball, and rank at No. 1 in the Southeast Region D2SIDA polls.
SAC foe Wingate is currently one spot ahead of the Wolves in the No. 4 position.
Newberry will host Armstrong State on Nov. 16 in Eleazer Arena. Tip off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
