NEWBERRY — Each year the Newberry Rotary Club sponsors a prayer breakfast the Friday before Thanksgiving where they announce a Lay Person of the Year. The Rotary Club is seeking help in identifying those within the Newberry County area who deserve a nomination.
The Rotary Club will also be hosting their annual Prayer Breakfast Nov. 21 at 7:30 a.m at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Family Life Center. A full breakfast, music and a speaker will bring a message to attendees. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased from any Rotarian or at the door.
Nominations should be based strictly on the person’s volunteerism, not on a professional position – a nominee who has distinguished himself, or herself, through their faith, action and service, spiritual life, and involvement within Newberry County.
The deadline for nominations is Oct. 31. Nomination forms can be requested from any Rotarian or : [email protected] or by mail to: Rotary Club of Newberry, P O Box 422, Newberry, SC 29108. A committee will select the Lay Person, and the selection will be announced on the morning of the Prayer Breakfast.
