NEWBERRY — Newberry Middle School hosted a Curriculum Night on March 8, sharing with parents and the community the innovative teaching strategies utilized at the school.

One of the strategies showcased was the StarLab hosted by Laura Sharp, representative with WoodmenLife and former educator.

The StarLab is a portable planetarium that is taken to schools in the midlands to enhance the classroom curriculum. It is ideal for elementary and middle school students in public and private schools. The StarLab curriculum aligns with National Science Standards.

Students really enjoy their time in the StarLab. Imagine how expensive it would be to take an entire school on a field trip, so instead the field trip comes to the school free of charge.
