PROSPERITY — The sixth annual Ruth S. Pugh Foundation Golf Tournament was held May 4 at the Mid-Carolina Country Club in honor of Bill Braswell to support individuals with disabilities and special needs in Newberry County served by the Newberry County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.

The tournament is the main fundraising event to support activities and events including Special Olympics, holiday activities, and most recently a formal gala held at Newberry College. Braswell serves on the board of directors for Newberry Disabilities and Special Needs.

Despite the weather conditions, there was a good turnout for the tournament and the rain held off until after the tournament was over. A silent auction was held inside the clubhouse during the tournament. The Ruth S. Pugh Foundation and Newberry DSN Board appreciates the support from the community to help support the special needs population in Newberry County.
