NEWBERRY — Newberry High School graduate Adam Riefsnyder receives the South Carolina American Legion Baseball Scholarship. He is one of three players to receive the scholarship this season. He is also the first SCALB alumnus to play in all three divisions of American Legion Baseball.

Riefsnyder has played for Lexington Post 7 AA, Lexington Post 7 AAA, Newberry Post 24 AAA and Chapin-Newberry Post 193/24 Seniors.

He hit a combined .368 batter percentage, .434 on base percentage and a .989 fielding percentage during his American Legion career. While at Newberry High School, Riefsnyder received all-region honors as a junior and senior. He hit .264 this season for the Bulldogs with a total of 19 hits, 10 RBIs, 15 runs scored and an on base batting percentage of .384.

The former Bulldog will play his college baseball nearby at Newberry College.
