ROCK HILL — Newberry softball student-athletes Selice Daley and Hannah Davis have swept AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week honors, the South Atlantic Conference office announced.
Daley picked up Pitcher of the Week honors after posting two wins over Claflin and Mercyhurst. The junior struck out 10 batters in 10 innings without allowing a single run and conceding only four hits.
Davis received Player of the Week honors after she crushed four home runs and collected 10 RBIs in just four games. The Chapin native walked twice and doubled once in her 11 plate appearances. Davis is batting .545, with an incredible 1.727 slugging percentage, and an on-base percentage of .615 after the weekend.
Selice Daley and Hannah Davis were each named Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week, respectively.
