HIGH POINT, N.C. — Patton Gossett earns the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Wrestler of the Week for his performance against Coker.
Gossett (285) was able to work fast and effectively against Coker’s Ramon Correa, getting the fall in :43 of the first period. Gossett capped off the Wolves’ dominating performance, coming away with a 29-12 victory. With the win, Newberry extended their win streak to nine, including a perfect 4-0 record in the conference.
Gossett, the 12th ranked wrestler in his weight class, has been on an absolute tear for the Wolves. In his past seven matches, Gossett has been able to get the fall against the opposition.
This is Gossett’s second time this season receiving this award and Newberry’s fifth time receiving the honor.
