The Insiders is a community service/educational project sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Communities In Schools.
The Insiders are a select group of DJJ committed youth who travel throughout South Carolina seeking to educate other youth about the effects of personal choices and to encourage the community to become involved in a young person’s life.
The Insiders share their personal stories of choices that led to their commitment to DJJ to elementary, middle and high schools, as well public and private community programs, conferences and churches.
Each program contains a general overview of DJJ and personal testimonials by the DJJ committed youth. The programs are concluded with questions and answers from the audiences.
A single session is generaly 45 minutes; however, adjustments can be made to meet particular needs.
