Elizabeth Ashley Robertson and Timothy Allen Parr, both of Newberry, were married Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Aveleigh Presbyterian Church in Newberry. The 6 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Pastor Gill Price. A reception followed at the Newberry Country Club. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at Steven W’s Downtown Bistro.
The bride is the daughter of Jane Clements Robertson and the late Herbert Willis Robertson, both of Newberry. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Memory Clements of Rutherfordton, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Robertson of Hawkinsville, Ga.
The bride graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a bachelor of science degree in finance, and the University of South Carolina School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. She is currently employed as a law clerk to the Honorable Jean H. Toal, Chief Justice of the S.C. Supreme Court.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Boyd Parr of Newberry. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Allen Brubaker of Comer, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lakin Parr Sr. of Newberry.
The groom graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor of science degree in packaging science. He is a packaging engineer with IPS Packaging in Fountain Inn, S.C.
Miss Marianna Lovelace Robertson, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ruth Virginia Parr, sister of the groom, of Boston, Mass.; Miss Katie Marie Brown of Spartanburg; Amanda Jean Bush of Charleston; Amber Jones Ivey of Houston, Texas; Chelsea Bannister Lake of Newberry; Kathryn Susan Mansfield of Columbia; Kaylyn Marie Wicker of Florence; and Jessica Bush Williams of Nashville, Tenn.
Dr. Boyd Parr, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Henry Parr of Washington, D.C., and Dr. Jonathan Boyd Parr of Chapel Hill, N.C., brothers of the groom; Daniel Oliver Robertson of Charleston, brother of the bride; Benjamin David Baird of Newberry; Keith Jordan Berry of Silverstreet; Eric Corbett Cannon of Newberry; Patrick Reid Hobby of Newberry; and Albert Campbell Rush of Charleston.
Honorary groomsmen were Charles Harrell Clary II of Pomaria; David Martin Dorroh Jr. of Silverstreet; Daniel James Gabriel of Chicago, Ill.; Samuel Lewis Kiser of Newberry; and Garrett William Setzler of Newberry. Dr. Billy Rush wore a boutonnière in memory of William Beasley Rush III, friend of the groom.
Emilee Ruth Parr and Lydia Elizabeth Parr, nieces of the groom, of Chapel Hill, were flower girls. Owen Cooper Berry of Silverstreet was the ringbearer.
The bride was escorted and given away by her brother, Daniel Oliver Robertson. Wedding directors were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Baker Carter, and reception coordinator was Jenny Chapman, all of Newberry. Guest register attendant was Dr. Mary Baker of Newberry. Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Yarbrough of Newberry served as greeters at the reception.
After a honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will live in Greenville.
