CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Newberry College 2015 graduate Korey Coleman of Stanford, Ky., has been named a 2014-15 All-American Scholar by the Women’s Golf Coaches’ Association.
The May 2015 cum laude graduate finished her college career with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, was named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll three times and has also earned the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award on multiple occasions.
Coleman was an honorable mention all-South Atlantic Conference selection in her senior season with a career-best stroke average of 80.2. She carded her career bests for a 36-hole tournament, as well as her lowest individual round – a 74 at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. Coleman picked up the first top 10 finish of her collegiate career at the Etowah Intercollegiate with a sixth place finish.
The Newberry College women’s golf program has a long history of academic and athletic success, with the WGCA All-American Scholar award ranking as one of the toughest academic honors in collegiate sports. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50.
