SEWANEE, Tenn. – Newberry College Wolves (3-13 overall) came up short in field hockey against Sewanee (11-5 overall) at Puett Field in Sewanne by a score of 2-1.

Each team both scored their goals in the second half. Sewanee jumped out to an early 2-0 in the first 19 minutes in the second half with goals by Virginia Barry at the 38:24 minute mark while Kat Mulligan scored the second goal 10 minutes later at the 48:50 minute mark.

Newberry scored their goal late in the second half with a goal from Caitlyn Warren as she grabbed a pass from Meghan Smiga. The Wolves tried to get another shot on goal but Sewanee defensive stepped up and won the game 2-1.

The Wolves took nine shots, five on goal while attempting six penalty corners. Sewanee took 12 shots and seven on goal while taking four penalty corners.
