WINGATE, N.C. — The Newberry men’s and women’s cross country teams finished out their season Saturday morning at the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Wingate. The men’s team finished 21st out of 24 teams overall as fellow South Atlantic Conference member Queens won the meet.

On the women’s side, the only competitor for the Wolves was freshman Alaya Lindquist, who ran 24:46.2 for the six-kilometer course. Her time ranks third in Newberry program history and is the best mark of her career.

The men’s team had five competitors, all of whom are seniors and were competing in their final race for the Wolves.
