HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — After a slow start on day one, Newberry men’s golf’s Harry Bolton improved his day one outing by seven strokes, posting a round two score of 75 (+3) to move into a tie for 84th place on the individual leader board at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Tournament.

After closing out his first round with a birdie, Bolton was able to pick up right where he left off, posting a birdie on hole one in round two. It was the first of three birdies that highlighted Bolton’s day two improvement.

Unfortunately for the senior, there were some bumps in the road as well. After the opening birdie on hole one, he would have to wait until hole 14 to break par again, posting four bogeys along the way.

The low point of Bolton’s round two outing came on the par three eighth hole, where a five stroke finish gave him his lone double bogey of the day.

Overall, Bolton’s individual round two score of 75 (+3) helped him to gain some ground in the field, moving up 14 spots into a tie for 84th in the field of 108 competitors. His two-round score currently sits at 157 (+13), 17 strokes back from the lead heading into the third and final day of competition.
