PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina varsity baseball team took the lead late and defeated Union 5-3 on Tuesday. The Rebels were down 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Bryce Medlock singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Cole Bouknight led the Rebels to victory on the mound. He allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out five. Wesley Livingston threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Livingston recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Mid-Carolina.

Kaleb Small took the loss for Union. He allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out six.

Mid-Carolina racked up seven hits in the game. Tanner Folk, Conner Gray, and Medlock each had multiple hits for Mid-Carolina, each collected two hits.
