PROSPERITY — The Mid-Carolina junior varsity baseball team took home a 7-3 victory over Union County on Tuesday.

In the first inning, the Rebels got their offense started when an error scored two runs for Mid-Carolina. The Rebels then scored three runs in the third inning led by offense from singles by Jackson Owens and Lawson Lominick.

Lominick also earned the win for Mid-Carolina. He allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Al Farmer threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Farmer recorded the last nine outs for Mid-Carolina.

Johnny Ruff went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Rebels JV in hits.

The Rebels would go on to defeat Saluda 4-1 and fall to Chapin 7-4.
