WHITMIRE — The Lady Wolverines hosted SCSDB in a region match-up and notched their first win of the season and first region win. The Lady Wolverines came out slow on both ends of the floor, but were able to pick their game up and pull away. The Lady Wolverines still struggled with some wide open shots around the basket, but did a good job of passing the ball and finding the open person.

Chelsea Goggins led the team in scoring and rebounding as she had her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Raegan Kendrick and Michelle Ruff added seven points, Alexus Sanders, Deja Livingston and Kaylynn Roche had six, Leanna Eison five, Samantha Strubeck four, and Jordyn Brooks and Harleigh McLaren had two.

Kaylynn Roche added 10 rebounds, Ashelyn King nine, Harleigh McLaren six, Raegan Kendrick five, Leanna Eison and Samantha Strubeck three, Michelle Ruff, Alexus Sanders and Deja Livingston two.

The team had 16 assists and 16 steals.

The Lady Wolverines also traveled to Newberry Academy this week and were unable to steal the road upset. Whitmire got beat in the transition game in the first half and got in a hole that they could not climb out of. The second half was much better for the Lady Wolverines as they cut the lead to 11 at one point, but were unable to get any closer than that.

The Lady Wolverines were led in scoring by Kaylynn Roche with nine points. Alexus Sanders added six, Ashelyn King and Raegan Kendrick four, Michelle Ruff three and Deja Livingston two.

The Lady Wolverines were led in rebounding by Kaylynn Roche with 13. Harleigh McLaren added eight, Alexus Sanders seven, Chelsea Goggins six, Raegan Kendrick four, Ashelyn King three, and Samantha Strubeck and Deja Livingston both had one.
