PROSPERITY — The Prosperity All-Stars Ponytails ended their season Wednesday, July 11 losing in the championship game in Seneca to Latta by the score of 4-2. During the week of the championship, the Ponytails won three games, and lost two.

The team headed to Seneca on Friday, July 6 where they attended the Dixie Girls State Championship Banquet, Opening Ceremonies and firework show.

The Prosperity All-Stars opened play up on Saturday, July 7 morning by defeating the Star Iva All-stars by the score of 12-2. Amber Hughes, Josalyn Gallman, Bailey Stewart and Aspen Mayers combined to throw a one hitter in the win. Hughes and Raelyn Livingston both had two hits apiece to lead the team in hitting.

On Sunday, July 8 the Prosperity All-Stars defeated the Westminister All-Stars by the score of 18-0. Hughes, Mayers, and Anna Marie Milstead combined to throw a no-hitter in the win. Leading hitters were Stewart with three hits while Faith Grey, Braley Brown, and Mayers each had two hits apiece. With the win against Westminister the Prosperity All-Stars stayed in the winners bracket.

On Monday, July 9 the Prosperity All-Stars faced the Latta All-Stars which were the only other undefeated team in the tournament. The Latta All-Stars defeated the Prosperity All-Stars by the score of 9-2. Hughes, Gallman, and Stewart combined to give up only five hits in the game, but the Prosperity All-Stars made five errors that were too costly to overcome. Stewart led the Prosperity All-Stars with two hits in the game.

On Tuesday, July 10 the Prosperity All-Stars faced the Marlboro County All-Stars in an elimination game. The Prosperity All-Stars came out with the victory by the score of 10-5. Hughes, Gallman and Stewart pitched while Grey led the way on offense with two hits.

On Wednesday, July 11 the Prosperity All-Stars faced the Latta All-Stars in the championship game of the Dixie Girls Softball S.C. State tournament. The Latta All-Stars defeated the Prosperity All-Stars by the score of 4-2. Hughes pitched a complete game for the Prosperity All-Stars giving up only three hits in the loss.
