NEWBERRY — On Monday night Newberry Junior American Legion played Clover in game one of their best of three series and came away with a 9-0 win. Colby Harrelson got the win on the mound for Newberry pitching five scoreless innings. The offense was led by Riley Summer, Jarret Whitley, Blaire Rodgers and Lawson Brand. Game two was played on Tuesday at Clover High.
In Senior action Chapin-Newberry fought back from a 6-0 deficit to tie the game with Anderson in the bottom of the sixth inning, but was unable to pull out the win losing 10-6. Game two was played on Tuesday at Anderson Memorial Stadium.
Both teams will return to Newberry College’s Smith Road Complex on Wednesday for game three. Game time will either be at 7 p.m. or 30 minutes after the Junior game.
