NEWBERRY — Five RBI Day for TJ Hartline Spells Out Victory For Newberry American Legion Post 24 Juniors Over Midland Valley
Hartline was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Monday, driving in five on three hits to lead Newberry American Legion Post 24 Juniors past Midland Valley 15-4. Hartline drove in runs on a walk in the second, a double in the fifth, and a double in the sixth.
Midland Valley scored four runs in the third inning, but Newberry Post 24 still managed to pull out the victory. Midland Valley batters contributing to the inning included Jayden Baker and Cain Danson, all driving in runs in the frame.
Newberry Post 24 fired up the offense in the first inning, when Riley Summer doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Post 24 notched four runs in the second inning. The offensive firepower by Post 24 was led by Hartline and Summer, both driving in runs in the inning.
Stanton Hester was the winning pitcher for Newberry Post 24. He lasted three innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out one. Summer, Hayes Waites, and Nic Demasi all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Summer recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Newberry Post 24.
Baker was on the pitcher’s mound for Midland Valley. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out two. Tre White and Ethan Perm entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Newberry American Legion Post 24 Juniors Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over West Columbia
Newberry American Legion Post 24 defeated West Columbia 7-3 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with Newberry Post 24 batting in the top of the fifth when Blair Rogers doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. West Columbia scored three runs in the third inning, but Newberry Post 24 still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for West Columbia came thanks to by Kennedy Ramsey and a double by Ethan Murray.
Gunnar Erickson led Post 24 to victory on the mound. He went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out three. Blair Rogers threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Rogers recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Newberry Post 24.
Murray took the loss for West Columbia. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking zero. Carsen Brown started the game for West Columbia. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six and a third innings, striking out seven
Newberry Post 24 collected nine hits on the day. Ryan Broussard and Al Farmer each had multiple hits for Post 24. Farmer and Broussard both had two hits to lead Newberry Post 24. Newberry didn’t commit a single error in the field. Connor Gray had the most chances in the field with five.

Newberry American Legion Post 24 Juniors capture League Eight title with victory over Lexington Navy Post 7 Juniors at Ballpark Road Complex in Lexington.
Newberry American Legion Post 24 Juniors ran off with the lead late in the game in a 16-15 victory over Lexington Navy on Thursday. The game was tied at 14 with Newberry Post 24 batting in the top of the ninth when Lawson Brand drew a walk, scoring one run.
Despite falling down by six runs in the fifth inning, Lexington Navy tried to fight back. Lexington Navy scored ten runs in the failed comeback on a triple by Lemaks in the fifth, an error in the fifth, a double by D Willis in the fifth, a double by Bledso in the fifth, a single by K Cvaps in the sixth, a ground out by M Willis in the seventh, a single by Cofer in the seventh, a double by Lemaks in the seventh, and a double by Lemaks in the ninth.
Newberry Post 24 got things started in the first inning. Bebbe threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Post 24. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Lexington Navy tied things up at 14. Lexington Navy scored one run when Lemaks doubled.

With last nights 16-15 extra inning victory Newberry American Legion Post 24 pushed their record to 14-0 overall and 10-0 in League 8 play. The victory allowed Post 24 to claim their 1st league title in the programs third season after finishing in second place the previous two years. Post 24 has two regular season games left on their schedule.
